Rii Cookie Test
Rii Cookie Test (りいクッキー (無料お試し版)) is a cute Japanese font provided for free to test by Rii Aoi. It’s a bold handwriting style font that has strong sense of thick and angular strokes. The author says the name “Cookie” has no association whatsoever with the font, but it’s more to expressing the mood and the feeling of this font gives, plus the author also mentioned that cookie is her favorite snack. Well the name Cookie is a suitable name for this font in my opinion, as I can relate the structure and the shapes of cookies to the design of this font.
As why there is “Test” in the name, this is because the free version is test or free trial version that comes with limited kanji characters where it supports 1,006 kanji that fulfills the “educational kanji (Kyouiku kanji)”, the kanji characters learned in primary school from year 1 to 6. There is a paid version that supports up to JIS Level 1 and 2 where you can purchase at her store on Booth. Despite the test version, you can still download for free and be used on commercial projects. The cool thing is it also comes with the regular (the bolder version) and the light with the thinner version. Rii Cookie Test is suitable for many kinds of designs that expresses fun, casual, and friendly feel, for the wide range of audiences especially for fashion, food and beverage industry.
