Dela Gothic One
Dela Gothic One is a free Japanese font featuring eye-catchy thick strokes that guarantees to capture everyone’s attention. Its thick and squarish character design makes this font sturdy and packs a lot of punch in it. Not only the Japanese character, the latin characters are exceptionally well done too. Because of its thick stroke nature, this font works very well in big displays, call-outs for posters, prints and signages.
Dela Gothic one is open-sourced, hence it can be used for both personal and commercial use. It comes with the common characters with extensive kanji characters, supporting up to Shift JIS Level 3 library.

I have downloaded it to illustrator but assumed when typing it converts it to Japanese automatically?
