Sayonara

Preview of Sayonara, a handwriting style free Japanese font

Sayonara or in full name Sayonara, Matakondo (さよなら、また今度。) is an extremely thin weight handwriting style free Japanese font. It was a very scribbly kind of handwriting where each letters are written fast and the strokes are connected, this might be what people normally described as handwriting of doctors. Moreover the stroke width are really thin, in the article cover I have to bolden it by adding additional strokes to the font itself, to make it more visible. Hence, the scribbly style plus extreme lightweight, making this font not readable friendly.

Sayonara, Matakondo means “Goodbye, see you next time” in Japanese. I imagine this font appears in a handwritten letter to someone dearest, that will be heading off to somewhere far and probably will not be back anytime soon to pursue their dream. A very unusual but an imaginative font name for sure. It supports common Japanese characters, with kanji support up to Education Kanji (Kyoiku Kanji, roughly around 1000+ characters).
