Ryusenkei

Ryusenkei (流線形) is a free Japanese italic mincho font derived from Adobe’s Source Han Serif. The name 流線形 means “streamlined” which reflects exactly the font aesthetic at work here. Flop Design Font, the author of this font, took the elegance already baked into Source Han Serif and tilted mildly by 7 degrees, giving it an italic look, then the stroke edges are rounded to give it a warmer, more approachable quality that balances the inherent formality of mincho.
This italic, elegant font comes with four font weights: ExtraLight, Regular, Bold and Black. I believe they skipped the weights in-between (eg. Medium, SemiBold etc) so that it can create a stronger contrast from these four weights when you using them together. Ryusenkei is well-suited for editorial layouts, creative video titles, and any context where you want refined type with a little movement and ease. It’s free to download and be used on commercial projects, as it’s released under SIL Open Font License 1.1.
