New Clear Mincho
New Clear Mincho (ニュークリア明朝) is a free mincho or serif style Japanese font with refreshing but formal look. It was made by combining the best of both world from another two open source fonts: the kanji characters from BIZ UDPMincho and the kana (hiragana and katakana) characters from Apuri Mincho UD.
New Clear Mincho works great in both designs for formal and casual occasions, thanks to its flowy and fluidic strokes that feels refreshing yet serious. It supports the usual Japanese characters and JIS Level 1, Level 2 and IBM extended kanji characters. Since it’s a font created based on two open source fonts, New Clear Mincho was released under the same license (SIL Open Font License, v1.1) and can be use on commercial projects.
