Mashifont

Preview of Mashifont, a free Japanese handwriting font

Mashifont (ましふぉんと) is a cute and chill handwriting style Japanese font that is available for free download. It’s a scribbly handwriting style that feels care free and nonchalant, some characters might appear to be harder to read but overall it is still readable. What makes this font interesting is the design choice for the latin alphabets where the characters are presented in outlined block style, which give a contrasty look to the other other characters especially Japanese characters. However, I think it might look funny if you mix the latin alphabets with the other characters, but who knows it might turn out visually interesting.

Mashifont comes with the usual Japanese hiragana and katakana, with supports up to kyōiku kanji characters totaling 1,026 kanji characters learned by the primary 1 to 6 students. Besides that, like I mentioned earlier, the basic latin characters are included too. This font is free to download, however it is not for commercial use.
