Hina Mincho (ひな明朝) is a beautifully designed free font with several key design points that sets it apart from the other Mincho fonts. It has a traditional and classical look that matches the elegant vibe of the Hina doll, and the brushstroke design in the shape of bird silhouette with a sense of fun. Moreover, it has the expression of ink pool that gives the fluidic and rounded touch, and narrow “futokoro” with a lively sweeping line. Overall it’s a unique mincho font that has the elegance with a sense of lighthearted fun.

Hina Mincho comes with only one weight and it should work great on design works that expresses modest fun and traditional elegance. It comes with the standard Japanese characters including hiragana, katakana and kanji characters up to JIS Level 2 standard. It’s released under SIL Open Font License, hence you can download it for free for personal and commercial project.
