Alpen Font Free (あるぺんフォント」フリー版) is a handwriting style Japanese font that you can download for free. It carries the essence of the handwriting look and feel, with its character having slightly uneven balance, sizes and textures. Overall it is still a nice looking handwriting font.

Alpen Font Free comes with hiragana, katakana characters with supported kanji characters up to education kanji level which is about 1000+ characters. Besides that, it also supports Latin and Cyrillic script. The Full version is available for a price and you will get kanji support up to JIS Level 2. You can download the Free version of the font and be used on personal and commercial projects. If you need a handwriting font with at least JIS Level 1 or 2 kanji level support, do check out the other handwriting font category.
