GenEi Kiwami Gothic (源暎きわみゴ) is a ultra bold free Japanese font suitable to capture all the attention you want. It was created with the base from another popular ultra bold, open-sourced font – Dela Gothic One. Dela Gothic One is more extended horizontally, while GenEi Kiwami Gothic stretches the characters vertically for an extra 20% so that it’s more visually squarish. The hiragana, katakana and numeral characters are originally created for this font, while the kanji characters are borrowed from Dela Gothic One. The characters are also having extreme tight letter spacing, creating this highly impactful, sometimes suffocating visual sensation.

GenEi Kiwami Gothic is a great choice for high visual impact designs. It should be use on larger font sizes not only for maximum callouts, but also to maintain its readability. It comes with 7800 kanji characters which supports up to JIS Level 3 kanji characters. Since this font is designed based on an open-sourced font, GenEi Kiwami Gothic is also comes in free of charge and under the same SIL Open Font License. This means you can download it for free and be used on projects including commercial use.
