Shirokuma Font

Shirokuma font (しろくまフォント) is a cute font released for free to download by Tokyo graphic designer Kuma (クマ). Created with FontPainter, the designer’s inspiration of the font design is by taking the polar bear’s paw pad as creation image. It comes with the basic Japanese characters like Hiragana and Katakana, however the kanji characters are only restricted to 339. Nevertheless, it’s a well designed font with a sense of organic hand writing.

Usage Permission

  • Free for personal and commercial projects
  • Cannot be used as logo mark, and also adult, politics, religion, discrimination related contents

    but when I open Illustrator cc and I type something normal characters appear
    How do I display the Japanese characters?

      Hi, you will need to change the keyboard input to Japanese to be able to type in Japanese characters.
